The Australian Training Centre (RTO#41503) offers the nationally recognised CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability qualification with high quality course materials and premier student support to deliver a unique learning experience.The purpose of this course is to provide the skills and knowledge required for workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing.Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team. Course Outcomes:
Students will develop the skills and knowledge to provide disability support practices in relation to understanding, preparing, and performing specialized tasks; including applying safe work practices, working legally and ethically within the health care sector, meeting personal support needs, understanding duty of care and dignity of risk, building relationships with clients, working with diverse people, and communicating in the workplace to support team and customer outcomes.

Program Duration:
You will have up to 12 months starting from your commencement date to complete this Self-Paced blended course. Students can enrol anytime during the year under this delivery method.
Entry Requirements:
Although there are no pre-requisites for this qualification, learners at Australian Training Centre must meet the following entry requirements to obtain admission in this training product:
- Are 18 years or older
- Have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 10 English, or equivalent)
- Have Basic Computer Skills
Course Intake:
The blended delivery of this qualification runs all throughout the year. This allows you to enrol and start your course straight away or on your preferred commencement date.
Students are required to –
- Obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Provide a valid ID with his/her picture and signature
- Undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Evaluation
- Undertake a Personal Learning Plan Evaluation before accessing the course materials and commencing studies; and Obtain a positive National Criminal History check
Vocational Placement:
Students are required to complete Vocational Placement as part of this course to help them develop their skills and knowledge in caring for elderly individuals. To gain this qualification, students will be placed in one of our approved aged care facilities we deliver in partnership with and undertake a minimum of 120 placement hours. This allows them to gain practical industry and workplace experience where they will be taught how to apply the lessons they learned during training. Note: Students are required to complete a Police Check and additional manual handling training prior to commencing their vocational placement at their chosen facility.
